2011-2019

2019年10月、「ニューヨーク発バイリンガル劇TOKIJIRO」鹿児島公演を実現!鹿児島港本港区北ふ頭1号上屋に於いて、ニューヨークから俳優陣10名、鹿児島のダンサー9名、そしてライブミュージシャン6名による夢のパフォーマンスを披露した。Jun Kimによる幻想的な演出が観客を非日常の世界へ誘った。

 

October in 2019, Kagoshima welcomed “TOKIJIRO”, a bilingual play from New York!

The original version “Kutsukake Tokijiro” was performed in 2011 at the Flea Theater, one of New York’s iconic Off-Off-Broadway theaters. The play had a sensational three-week run, garnering rave reviews!

 

Building on success in New York, “TOKIJIRO” had traveled to Kagoshima, Japan! Based on the original script by Shin Hasegawa (1928), “TOKIJIRO” was directed by Jun Kim, and featured music by Ryo Yoshimata, choreography by Kayoko Sakoh, and translation by Keiko Tsuneda.

 

The site-specific show took place at the North Pier Warehouse at the edge of Kagoshima Port, facing Sakurajima Volcano, the symbol of Kagoshima!
